May 10th hail and gusting winds came up suddenly on our friends in Honduras. Blessedly, no lives were lost and moreover, unity was renewed and strengthened as the villagers of Agros Uno repaired each other's shelters and saved their green pepper crop, which is flourishing.
Last week a tremendous joy came over the village and the Agros Honduras staff when the local Water Board granted 20 water connections to Agros Uno, one for each home.
Self-esteem is blooming, and new developments include
- cooperative production of bread and tamales,
- purchase of supplies and uniforms for the children,
- construction of houses,
- assembling for prayer
and celebrations,
- expansion of crops, and
- learning new farming
technologies.
Prayers are requested for:
- a teacher of adult literacy;
- the pepper, chili,
and sweet potato crops;
- and a growing sense of community
with the help of the new Agros Honduras Human Development
Coordinator, Suyapa.
