Greetings from the Sandersons

The SandersonsHello Bethany Friends!

Sarah and I wanted to offer a brief update on our continuing journey into ministry. It has been three years (hard to believe!) since we left Bethany and headed east to Princeton Seminary. These years have been full of life lessons, not the least of which was the birth of our daughter Abby, whose blossoming personality keeps us on our toes! We are profoundly grateful for our time here and for the remarkable education I received.

During my final semester, I was actively seeking a call to ministry – talking with churches from Alaska to Virginia and everywhere in between. Throughout the process, one particular church stood out. The First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield, New Jersey, stood out as the place God was calling us. The warmth of the congregation in worship, the passion and vision of the committees I spoke with, and the gentle leadership of the senior pastor there all made clear to us that the church would be a good fit. What a relief it was to get a call from them (the morning of graduation) extending the call to me! I will be the associate pastor, working with the youth program, as well as teaching, preaching and offering pastoral care. Sarah and I are excited to be taking this step, and do so in the confidence that God has been at work making this match.

We want to offer our profound gratitude to Bethany for having kept me “under care” these past years. Your prayers, your welcome each time we come home, and your support have continued to remind me what the body of Christ is all about. I pray that I can bring a little bit of Bethany to Haddonfield in the months ahead!

I am excited to be coming to back to Bethany for my ordination service this July 30th. And Sarah and I look forward to connecting with many of you during that trip.

Grace and Peace!
Jeremy, Sarah and Abby
