Opportunities for Reflection & Prayer During Holy Week

holy weekby Linda Cutshall, Director of Congregational Care

Martin Luther once said that prayer is "climbing up to the heart of God." During Lent we set aside time to find God's heart and bask in His presence. This year during Holy Week there are several opportunities for quiet reflection in the sanctuary.

Palm Sunday Healing Prayer
April 1, following the 5:00 pm Vesper's Service Sanctuary
Loneliness, addictions, broken relationships, grief, shame and anger are all part of the human experience, yet sometimes it's difficult to bring our brokenness to God and ask Him to touch us. Following the Vesper's Service you are invited to bring those difficult places to God during a time of Healing Prayer. Bethany Elders and the Healing Prayer Team will be available to pray with you in the Sanctuary. All are welcome.

Noontime Holy Week Service
Mon-Fri, April 2-6, 12:00 pm Sanctuary
A mid-day rest from the busyness of the day. Join us as Bethany staff and elders lead us each day through a time of meditation, reflection, prayer and song.

Maundy Thursday
April 5, 7:30 pm Sanctuary
Following the service, the Sanctuary will be open until 11:00 pm for quiet reflection and prayer.

Good Friday
April 6, 6:00-11:00 pm Sanctuary
The sanctuary will be open for prayer from 6:00-11:00 pm. From 7:00 pm, Joe Guppy will facilitate a time of Centering Prayer. Joe is a long-time Bethany member and a psychotherapist in private practice. He has led workshops in meditation and Centering Prayer for more than ten years.

Holy Saturday
April 7, 6:00-11:00 pm Sanctuary
The Sanctuary will be open for prayer from 6:00-11:00 pm. From 7:00-9:00 pm, Marlene Muller will lead a time of contemplative prayer. A member of the Bethany community for 28 years, Marlene has led worship, contemplative prayer groups, and prayer retreats.

Easter Reception
April 8, after all 3 services Fellowship Hall
