Every day is Earth Day for good stewards.
Throughout the Bible we are called to be good stewards of all God has created and entrusted to our care. How do we strive to be good stewards of creation at Bethany?
Compost items such as food, paper plates, napkins and coffee cups. Approximately half of our waste is composted into usable soil (Compost receptacles have clear bio-bag liners). Our Wednesday night dinner is the leader in this effort.
Recycle bulletins, clean paper, aluminum, and plastic (cardboard receptacles).
Practice non-toxic lawn care and provide community green space.
Share facilities (preschool, youth house, intentional community).
Support local agriculture by encouraging use of farm subscriptions:

We educate on creation stewardship:
Sunday school classes for kids and adults focusing on environmental issues, Environmental Film Festival, summer family projects, car free Sundays and transportation fairs.
There is a group of elders and interested members that helps the church advance creation care. We’re always interested in further ways to be effective. Bring your questions and suggestions to the info table at the June Soup & Bread.
