"I used to be a worship leader at my church, now I'm an Atheist." - Jess, Senior

"I definitely see Agnosticism and Atheism as the popular trend." - Greg, Junior

"I believe in Karma and justice." - Natalie, Junior

"Religion is an excuse for when things go wrong."
- Kara, Sophomore

"I like the idea of a ‘goddess culture’." - Molly, Senior

"I'm always surprised when people use their Sundays to go to church; it seems like a waste of time." - Josh, Sophomore

These quotes, and many more like them, came from the mouths of University of Colorado students this Spring as InterVarsity staff and students were engaging the campus in conversation about Jesus.

More significantly, they represent the definite trend we are seeing on the campuses everywhere – students in this post-Christian world are increasingly identifying themselves not as neutral or undecided about the faith, but as openly against the claims of the Gospel.

None of this, of course, is surprising to Jesus! We still hear his words in our ears whenever we step on campus - “Those who are well have no need of a physician…I came not to call the righteous, but sinners!”

Our work with students and graduates takes us up and down the Rocky Mountains, and around the world to places like Kenya, Manila, and Mexico City. Scott is the Associate Regional Director for InterVarsity in 7 western states; Connie trains and pastors missionaries who have graduated from the campus to the slums. But what keeps us going is our hope in a Great Physician who is Good News to poor and privileged alike!
