Deacons Update

by Linda Cutshall

Katie Lucero and her son, Eli, enjoyed meeting some of our 60+ ladies over lunch at Annie’s Café at Swansons Nursery. Katie is a new deacon who will be focusing her attention on these older friends.

Imagine what it would be like to be around 80 years of age with close friends living around the city in various retirement homes. None of you drive, so you’re totally dependent upon the kindness of others to drive you over to see your friends. How fun it was to bring together ladies from Mukilteo, Lynnwood and Seattle, friends who used to see each other monthly at Women’s Circle. Lunch was provided by the deacons and daughters in the beautiful setting of Bayview Manor’s 10th floor.

And speaking of cooking, kudos go to chef Eric Mansfield for preparing a delicious meal for Bethany’s Single Mom’s Group that meets once a month for Bible Study and support. Meals were also provided by our community for families who’ve just given birth to a new baby.

Through Bethany’s deacons fund we purchased a used washer and dryer for a single parent family that Brittany Scott is involved with at Union Gospel Mission. Clothes were also purchased for an elderly woman.

The Deacon’s Fund is available to people in need who are connected to Bethany members. Contact Linda Cutshall, lindac@bethanypc.org, if you are aware of a need.
