Bethany Deacons explore how to serve out of the wide variety of gifts, personalities and callings that God has created us with. Our central calling is “to minister to those in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any that may be in distress."
Here are just a few ways God is leading us:
Supporting single moms with home cooked meals, help with yard work and household repairs. Sign up to assist single moms by contacting Misty Grieger or Sara Nagel.
Bethany has many mid 30’s -50’s singles, some who live far from family and would enjoy being invited over for coffee, or a meal and good conversation. Maria Scheleen and Linda Cutshall are planning every other month activities to get acquainted and have some fun – August 16, a BBQ at Deanna and Tim Stellings, October 4, Bowling at The Garage. If you’d enjoy planning with or hosting this fine group of people, let us know!
Befriends, visits and participates in activities with individuals who are 60+. If you’d like to befriend or offer assistance to seniors, contact Katie Lucero.
Organizes friendly people to help new people get acquainted.
Welcome team greeters serve once every 2-3 months (or more often if desired). Email Laurel Mackintosh or elder Adele Drummond.
Coordinates meals for individuals who are suddenly in a difficult place (illness, birth or adoption of a baby, etc.) Chef Jeff Benesi heads up bake-offs in Bethany’s kitchen to restock our deacon freezer. If you’d like to be on our meal maker list, or join the fun of helping out at a bake off, contact Linda Cutshall.
Connects individuals with skills and abilities to share with those who could use their help. Bill Nagel coordinates the ministry that Deanna Stelling began. Whether you like to cook, babysit, have a truck that you’re willing to loan, can help get someone to a doctor’s appointment, or love to read aloud… there’s a place for you to help. Contact Bill Nagel to let him know what you have to share.
We have an immediate need for people to help a single mom with yard work and sorting out ‘stuff’ stored that either needs to go to the dump or Goodwill. If you can help relieve this burden, contact Linda.
