Children's Ministries
1st Sunday Gatherings
On the First Sunday of every month, our elementary age children (present 1st-5th graders) come out of the 9:00 am worship service after Children's Time and go directly to Fellowship Hall. They are greeted by their teachers and Mary Steele, Lara Kutz and Adam Loeffler, who lead them in lively singing. Each month we have a different person share what God is doing around the world, inviting the children to grow in their understanding of God’s love for the whole world. The children then go to their respective classes for the remainder of the hour.
Special Godly Play Workshop
Dr. Jerome Berryman, founder of Godly Play will be coming to Seattle on Saturday, November 21, to lead a special all-day workshop. All Bethany Godly Play leaders are strongly encouraged to save that date and attend this workshop.
To help you attend, partial scholarships are available for all past and present Godly Play leaders (there are over 40 of you!)

Session Notes
Elders gathered in the Parlor for the monthly Session meeting. Our group was blessed with guests Jenny Cade, our new Youth Intern, and Monica McIntosh from Rancho el Milagro (the location of one of the Families in Service projects this summer).
We spent time catching up on praises and prayer requests from the summer and were pointed toward Christ by LauraLeigh Young.
Time was spent discussing how our church is aligning with the Bethany Statement of Direction which includes the following points:
- Model, teach and encourage our community in pursuing a Sabbath lifestyle, intentionally choosing to reduce the busyness of life in order to free up space for God and people.
- Live proactively as responsible stewards of God’s good creation, teaching and giving our community tools to care for our environment
- Build bridges between our Sunday congregation and our WND community
- Care compassionately for those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa, particularly in Kenya
- Pursue loving relationships across racial barriers, particularly in our Seattle community
The rest of the time was spent in fellowship and worship.
