This month, college students are traveling from all over the world to venture into our circles of influence. No matter what their spiritual hunger, the Master Gardener is preparing places for them to grow in love and pursue the kingdom alongside a family of believers.
God holds the thread of ministry within InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the University of Washington despite another year of transitions: students graduating and staff workers moving on. As resources change, my heart overflows with love and gratefulness for this year’s student leaders. God’s work in our community continues to be distinguished by our passion for racial reconciliation and social justice.
We exist to engage the whole campus with the whole gospel specifically in the dorms and marginalized communities. Nicole knows that as she leads her peers into multiethnic worship, we will become a more ethnically diverse and reconciled body. Bess returns from a summer global project in Cairo certain that justice for the poor is central to the good news. Catherine understands that all of our activity must start in prayer focused on the power and example of Christ.
God longs to raise up another generation of change agents, peacemakers and bridge builders. Students like Kelli are headed to Urbana 2009 in December, a taste of the global Church. Pray that God would empower her and others this year to follow Him to Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth. For such a time as this.
Every prayer of intercession, encouraging email, and financial gift that comes from the Bethany Presbyterian community allows me to faithfully serve on campus. Thank you!
