Meet Bethany's New Interns!

As many of you know, offering great leadership opportunities, and specifically internship opportunities are key priorities at Bethany. We have a great lineup of interns right now, and wanted to introduce them to you.

Sam Hastings
Middle School Ministries

samI was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO. As a Student at Seattle Pacific University, I am pursuing a major in Educational Ministry with a minor in Youth Ministry and Business. In my free time I love running, playing soccer, singing, watching cartoons, and just being present in the lives of friends and family. I also have a special appreciation for Chipotle Mexican Grill (If you haven’t been before, he would be happy to treat you to your first burrito and get to know you more). A strong passion for youth ministry and an even stronger desire to serve God has led me to Bethany. I look forward to building exciting new relationships and learning something new about what it means to love and serve Jesus!

Jonathan Gerig
College Ministry to Men

Hi. My name is Jonathan Gerig. I came to Bethany about two years ago when I moved to the Seattle area for work after graduating from Whitworth University. I immediately got involved in the Sunday School program, helping teach 4 th/5 th grade boys twice a month. This past year, I traveled extensively jonathanthrough Europe and Asia and volunteered with a Bethany supported member in Cambodia for four months. I am excited to once again, be back in Seattle and attending Bethany this year. I have always had a passion for working with youth and hope to bring the same enthusiasm to the college ministry program at Bethany. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, basketball, fishing and experience everything in this world that God has created so beautifully.

Emily Mitchell

I have attended Bethany Presbyterian Church my entire life, becoming a member in 1996.I graduated from Whitman College emilyin 2006 with degrees in Spanish and Politics. For two years after college, I worked on the Yakama reservation with Native youth with an organization called Mending Wings Ministries. The experience shaped me profoundly:God taught me so much about culture, identity, and character.Although the experience on the reservation was very difficult at times, I learned that my heart sings when I am engaged in ministry.

Intern Jenny Cade has been working in Children's Ministries with Dianne since late August. For the article on Jenny, see here.
