Renewal Weekend

toddby Associate Pastor Todd Holdridge

We’re at it again. The Adult Christian Education team has been preparing for our next Renewal weekend, April 30-May 1, featuring Jeff Van Duzer, speaking on the topic of a theology of business. As the Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Seattle Pacific University, Jeff has given a great deal of thought to the role of business in God’s Kingdom.

Jeff will be speaking about the role and scope of business from a biblical point of view. If your work is in the field of business, you will be encouraged to think about the value God finds in business, and its role in God’s agenda.

If you are not in business, you will benefit in a few ways. You’ll be encouraged to think theologically about how your work and faith intersect. You’ll see how integration takes place in the context of business and be challenged to think about how integration might happen in your life. You may also come away with a fresh understanding of how business (along with all our work) can be approached as a tool in God’s hands.

Jeff’s new book , “Why Business Matters to God (and what still needs to be fixed)” will be available from InterVarsity Press in October 2010. To preview a chapter from the book in preparation for the weekend, please register for the weekend with Ken Windus at ken.windus@gmail.com.

Childcare will be available on Saturday for children 6 weeks to 4 years old. Please RSVP to Mark Cutshall (631.1407) for childcare.

Guest speaker Jeff Van Duzer will speak April 30-May 1 on the theology of business.
