This summer 38 High School students and 12 adult volunteers from Bethany will travel to Pasadena to serve and partner with local homeless ministries and community centers. This is our second trip to Pasadena and part of an ongoing partnership with John Perkins’ ministries. We will once again be staying at John Perkins’ Harambee Center (www.harambee.org) where we will be putting on community events and running a VBS program.
The Pasadena trip is part of a three-year cycle of trips that we do with the High School youth group that intends to give them a rich and diverse missions experience. The cycle consists of an “in-city” trip (Seattle), followed by an international trip (Honduras, Portugal), and concluding with an “out-of-state” trip (Mississippi, Pasadena, Virginia).
Please begin praying for this trip now as we begin to fundraise and prepare. Pray that God will be in the details of the planning and that He will be preparing the hearts and minds of the students and leaders for what He has in store for our group. Also, please be paying attention in the bulletin and the Bethany briefs for fundraising events that we will be putting on over the next few months.
