Worship with Us

We want you to join us in Worship! Our doors are open every Sunday at 9:00am and 10:45am.

At Bethany, worship is the very center of our life together. It is the dinner table of our community. We gather weekly around this table: a table of welcome where all are invited to take a seat. For some of us, this is our first time, for others we have lost count, but through the hospitality of Christ we each belong.

If you are a visitor, experiencing Bethany is not a one Sunday event. We encourage you to come a few times to get the feel for our community and imagine your place in it. Worship often takes similar form, but is never the same. A few things you can count on are: silence, singing, opportunities to pray aloud, a children’s message, a sermon, and communion on first and third Sundays (and each week in Lent and Advent).

Each Sunday at Bethany is unique. What we are doing is not a show put on by professionals. We are led in worship weekly by a different person from the community. These people are rarely official pastors; they are nurses, unemployed, lawyers, teachers, mothers, fathers, singles, students. The worship leader prayerfully prepares and leads the elements of the service. The worship ensemble and choir are comprised of musicians of all ages and skill levels, from high school on up. Preachers are from our pastoral team and beyond. The joy of worship at Bethany is very literally the work of the people.

Children’s Sunday School

Worship is a central part of our focus here at Bethany. Each Sunday, children 4 and older begin in service and go to their classes after the children’s time.

At our 9:00am service we have classes focused on each age and grade, with our 4th and 5th graders split into gender specific classes. Our 10:45 service has classes for 2-4 year olds, and all 4-8 year olds participate in Godly Play curriculum.

First time visitors should go with their children to their classes, and pick them up after the service. Click here to learn more about individual Sunday Morning Classes.

Our Youth Ministry aims to grow students into lifelong disciples. Part of this is integrating these emerging adults into the worship with the church.

The first Sunday of each month, Middle and High School students remain in the worship service.
All other weeks, students begin in the Sanctuary for corporate worship:
At the 9:00am service, Middle Schoolers will meet in the Youth House for the remainder of the service.
At the 10:45am service, High Schoolers will meet in the Youth House for the remainder of the service.
