WORLD RELIEF SEATTLE has worked since 1979 to empower the local Church to serve and help refugees and immigrants in the Greater Seattle Area. They do this through refugee resettlement, refugee employment, english language training for refugees, immigration legal services, opportunities for building resiliency and empowerment, and through their immigration detention ministry.

History of Bethany's Relationship with World Relief:

Bethany Presbyterian Church has been involved with World Relief for more than 30 years. Many Bethany folks had been volunteering at World Relief, but the partnership became more formal when Bethany member Cal Uomoto became the Executive Director. Since Cal's passing, Bethany is still actively involved in this partnership by providing financial support, volunteering, hosting refugee families, and providing advocacy and prayer support.

We are inviting our whole Bethany congregation
to join in the World Relief Move-a-Thon to raise
money to help support World Relief and all that
they do to welcome these new neighbors and
help them make a home here in Seattle!
You can walk, bike, run, scooter, even get pushed
in a stroller or a wheelchair! You can ask friends
to support you financially by donating a certain
amount per mile, or you could commit to donating
that amount yourself!
