High School Summer Service Trip

– TRIP DATES:  Sunday, July 26th – Friday, July 31st
– AGES:  Students currently in 8th - 12th grade
– COST:  $1700 total, including $500 deposit with scholarships available

ACTIVITIES & WHAT TO EXPECT:  Students and Leaders from Bethany will travel to the Los Angeles area together this summer. We will spend time daily in service activities specifically helping with the effects of recent wildfires in the area. We will also spend time daily learning, worshiping, in small groups, and praying together. How is our faith calling us to be a people of hope and transformation in this world? This trip will include a day of fun. Students can expect to earn 21 service hours on this trip. Students will be booked on a group package with Alaska Airlines non-stop into an LA area airport (airport determined by our group rate). Leaders will transport students in rented vehicles. Students will need the ability to learn, the desire to participate in hands on service projects, and the willingness to be flexible. Students and leaders will be preassigned a small group which will operate like family together during the week – traveling together, working alongside one another, cooking together and visiting sites together. These groups will pre meet together this spring and early summer. Please note, due to our group reservation needing to be a certain size, we are not able to have students fly separately to and from LA. This trip will begin in Seattle at 9:15 am at Bethany on Sunday July 26. This trip will end with a parent or guardian picking up from the airport in the early evening of Friday July 31.
