  • CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP
    Thursday, Dec. 24th, premiering at 4pm on the Bethany website

    You are not going to want to miss this service, which will be a unique and delightful blend of our family-friendly and traditional services. As many of you know, our Bethany fifth graders have historically taken a strong leadership role in our early service on Christmas Eve - this is part of the leadership project they do every year as one of their Milestones. This year, we all have the privilege of getting to experience this – along with elements that we usually see in our later service.

    Along with the fifth graders, several other members of our community are working hard to prepare various parts of the service that will be brought together as one special program - premiering on the Bethany website at 4pm on Christmas Eve.

  • LIGHTS ON THE LAWN
    Each evening through Dec. 31st
    We'll miss celebrating the Season of Advent in the Sanctuary, gathering under the Stars hung above, and making a joyful noise to the Lord. That said, the Arts Committee felt it important to carry on some Christmas tradition - so they focused on the Stars and how they could transfer that experience to an outdoor venue. They came up with the idea of lighting the lawn area, creating an outdoor room of string lights reminiscent of the Sanctuary Stars and complimenting the lights on the trees along Queen Anne Avenue.

The Four Light Towers represent the four themes of Advent: HOPE, JOY, LOVE, and PEACE.

    • HOPE in the redeeming salvation of the Lord; “the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint;”
    • JOY in the birth of the Christ child;
    • LOVE, a command of Jesus: that we love each other as I have loved you; and
    • PEACE, the peace that surpasses all understanding.

This year is different, yet the Lord our God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, He is steadfast and faithful. Visit the Lights, stop for a moment and say a silent pray of Hope, Joy, Love, and Peace.
