Children & Families
We are committed to helping our children grow in their faith by teaching them through word and action, that they are created by, and loved by God!
Sunday Programming:
Children are welcome in our midst. They are invited and encouraged to participate in the worship service at whatever level they can and want to, including the Children’s Message. Children's bulletins and crayons are available in the narthex to help children engage at their own level.
Childcare is available for children ages 2 years and younger in room #102 and children ages 3-5 in room #103 at the beginning of both services.
9:00am Worship has individual classes for kids 3 years old through 5th grade after the Children’s Message.
10:45am Worship has classes for preschoolers, and Godly Play for kindergartners through 3rd graders after the Children’s Message. 4th and 5th graders will stay in the sanctuary with their families, or they may volunteer.

We open our doors for this on Wednesday evenings, and we call it Wednesday Night Dinner (WND). We serve a warm, free, homemade meal on Wednesday evenings; doors open at 5pm, and dinner is served 5:30-6:30pm.

Prayer Ministry
Prayer is integral to our church, forming the basis of every gathering we hold, decision we make, and activity we undertake.
WAYS TO REQUEST PRAYER OR PRAY WITH SOMEONE
+ Individual Intercessory Prayer: On Communion Sundays (1st and 3rd Sundays), someone from the prayer team is available to pray with individuals immediately after they receive Communion. On all other Sundays, this will be offered at the end of worship; meet a prayer team member at the pulpit.
+ Virtual Prayer Wall: This is a public page where anyone can submit prayer requests to be prayed over during worship on Sunday. Click HERE
+ The Prayer Ministries Prayer Chain: A group of Bethany members pray for individual prayer requests submitted by the congregation and friends. Send your requests to Kerry Dearborn or fill out the online form HERE. All prayer requests are kept confidential.

Then stop by to share any questions, joys, or concerns about your own life or Bethany's. If Doug is engaged with someone, simply inform him of your presence, and he will be able to converse with you in a short while. Pastor Doug is also available for pastoral care appointments at other times during the week Email Doug at dougk@bethanypc.org

Worship/Music
Bethany incorporates a diverse range of musical expression within corporate worship, from traditional hymns to contemporary praise songs.
+ WORSHIP ENSEMBLES: Instrumentalists and vocalists lead in worship at each Sunday service. Three ensembles rotate in leading morning services. Other musicians share their gifts in Children and Families Ministries and for Special Music on Sunday mornings. Rehearsal times vary; generally before services.
+ CHANCEL CHOIR: The Bethany Choir ministers with music ranging from classical choral arrangements to contemporary choruses. The four-part choir participates in morning services during Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter. Weekly rehearsals are held in the sanctuary on Thursday evenings at 7:00pm.
+ KIDS CHOIR: Kids Choir meets between services on Sunday mornings from 10:15-10:45am in the Parlor. All children ages 5 through 6th grade are welcome to join.

Outreach
Outreach is a vital part of Bethany’s DNA. We count it a privilege to participate in God’s mission of reconciliation and justice here in Seattle and around the world.
Our Global/Regional Outreach and Local Outreach teams meet regularly to pray for and support our partners. Each ministry partner is supported by a PACT team who commit to Praying, Advocating, Communicating, and Traveling to our partners both near and far. Contact Marisa Gronholz Scheidler if you're interested in joining a PACT team.

Small Groups
Connect on a Deeper Level
Small groups are a part of the character of Bethany - we believe in community! At Bethany, small groups provide a way to do life with others within the congregation, to know and to be known.
