MAY 2017
At our Session retreat in late April, we approved the draft 2017 Statement on Unity & Diversity at Bethany and the Anticipated Questions document. We also:
- elected LauraLeigh Young as the past Session member representative on the Nominating Committee.
- voted to add six people to membership, and to transfer membership for two people to another church.
- appointed two elders to hold a consultation with Laura Nile regarding moving from Inquirer to Candidate status.
At our May meeting, we reflected on congregational responses so far to the draft 2017 statement, what we need to keep providing for you, and what else you need from us.
Fred Drummond reported that YTD we are well ahead of last year’s revenue, while expenses are about the same. YTD we are (only) $40,233 in the red, which is good news historically for this time of year.
Anne van Roden led us in prayer of thankfulness for how God has led us in this process so far, and asked that God would guide our congregational forums, give us wisdom in the midst of them, and keep Jesus at the center of them.
We approved the baptisms of Luke David Kamrath and Ezra Aurturo Uomoto.
We expressed gratitude to elders Delene DeForest-Dale, Kelly Pearson, and Scott Cummins as they complete their terms on Session, and we prayed for them.
