From August 20-29, a team of 6 people, comprised of some high schoolers, a college student, and two young adults at Bethany, will serve at the organization Niños con Valor in Cochabamba, Bolivia. We invite your prayer for our time of serving and learning.
Niños con Valor is a non-profit organization which seeks to bring hope, healing, and a sense of value to children by responding to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of Bolivian children with traumatic pasts. This is based on the belief that each child is a unique creation of God, with innate value, rights, and deserving of respect. Improving the life of even one child can begin an infinite succession of positive changes in the future.
Niños con Valor’s work is unique in its holistic approach, as it seeks to address all aspects of a child’s life, while at the same time welcoming all children, regardless of their history, health status (many have HIV), gender, or physical, mental and educational needs.
While in Bolivia, our team will focus on building relationships with the children of Niños con Valor and learning about how the systemic problems of the country impacts the most vulnerable. We plan to engage the children through playing games, leading art activities, attending church, and perhaps providing times of worship together through the aid of some Godly Play stories we are bringing.
