Margie Van Duzer pointed us to Christ in discussing biblical themes of holiness and sanctuary.

Lars presented the letter from Elaine Myers to session regarding her gratitude for the participation of Session in her faith and ordination journey.

Brian Ives (filling in for Carolyn Burkland) reported that budget continues in the pattern of past months. The percentage of pledged revenue received year-to-date is ahead of prior years; the non-pledged revenue amount is close to last year (behind as a percentage collected). We’re keeping an eye on spending. 

Sprague Minger, Lynne Baab, and Margui Rutherford gave an overview of a new support group being formed at Bethany called “Isaiah 43:1” for people who identify as LGBTQ, and for people who want to support family members and friends who identify as LGBTQ. The purpose of the group is to support, not debate or seek to persuade.

Session approved a motion to continue funding the Young Adult Coordinator position through June 2019

Brian Beaumont encouraged elders to suggest names of potential Elders and Deacons to the Nominating Committee for its discernment, Reed provided an update on Stewardship efforts around the church, and Matt highlighted the upcoming new membership class.
